Hevy, Strong, Fitbod, HyperBody: and us?
There are excellent strength training apps out there. Here is what each one does well, what their users ask for most, and where Live For Fit fits in.
The logs: Hevy and Strong
They are the go-to apps for logging workouts. Simple, fast, very well rated.
Free account, plus a PRO plan for records, 1RM and body fat tracking. The most frequent negative reviews mention the number of free workout templates and the exercise library.
Well loved, with an active community. Requests keep coming back about cardio, machines missing from the library, and logging durations.
At Live For Fit: the complete log is free with an account, records and charts included. 340 exercises with demos, and you can add your own machine with your photo and your video link. Cardio has its own timer, in 6 formats.
The automatic coaches: Fitbod, Alpha Progression
They build your workouts for you. Handy when you don't know what to do.
The recurring request: understanding why the app picks this weight or this exercise. The Fitbod team acknowledged it themselves in a public post in June 2026.
Program and log together, guided progression, a positive community. Few negative reviews found.
At Live For Fit: the rule is public and fits in one sentence. Reps are set, and the weight follows the reps you actually did. Every exercise has 3 to 5 alternatives that train the same muscle the same way, and the coach tells you why in plain words, with no paid AI behind it.
Physique analysis: HyperBody
5 guided photos, body composition, weak points and multi-week plans. A single rating on the French App Store so far.
At Live For Fit: the photo analysis reads muscle by muscle, with its confidence level, and it directly sets the number of sets for each muscle in your 4-phase program. Nutrition and the shopping list follow. Planned after the beta: €89 a year.
What we don't have yet
- The app on the App Store and Google Play: until then, Live For Fit runs in the browser, and your account will come with you.
- Smartwatch support, which will come with the app.
- A social feed to follow your friends.
In short
Just want to log your workouts? Our free log does the job, records included. Want to know which muscles to train first, and a program that takes it into account? That is where Live For Fit is like no other app.
